Conservatory Bifolding Doors

Folding sliding doors are becoming a very popular upgrade choice for our conservatory customers offering the opportunity to create a much wider unobstructed opening than traditional french double doors and seamlessly merge your conservatory with your garden.

Bifolding doors have become a very popular choice for home extensions but their use in conservatories has been limited until recently because of the structural requirements for supporting the roof above such a wide opening.  This often meant the use of expensive steel portal frames which could cost more than the conservatory itself.

The Ultraframe Super Duty Eaves beam introduced last year has been specifically designed to provide adequate support for doors up to 4 metres wide depending on the style of the conservatory allowing us to provide this type of door on many more conservatories at an affordable price.  The SD eaves is supplied for all sides of the conservatory not just the side containing the bifolding door providing improved structural support for the complete roof.

As you can see the Super Duty eaves beam is higher, wider and stronger than the standard eaves whilst still compatible with all other components of the Ultraframe roof structure.

Folding sliding doors are also ideal for separating the main house from the conservatory since building regulations state that this door must be of external grade.  All our bifold doors comply with document L of the Building Regulations and feature argon gas filled SGG Planitherm 'soft-coat' Low E double glazing providing a very efficient 1.2 U-value ensuring your valueable heat is reflected back into the room.  External doors are supplied with SGG Bioclean self cleaning glass as standard.

Our conservatory bifold doors can be supplied in your choice of powder coated aluminium or our new PVCu bifold door available in standard white finish or an extended range of coloured wood grain finishes including Chartwell Light Green, Ebony Black, Cream and Grey.  We also provide a range of hardwood folding sliding doors ideal for internal use between the conservatory and main house.
