Traditional concrete base construction
We will supply you with a base plan drawing which will provide all the dimensions for you to accurately construct the base for your DIY Conservatory. It is important that the external wall is built exactly to the plan provided to ensure a trouble free installation.
You may want to build the conservatory base yourself or alternatively, consider using a reputable builder to construct the base for you. If you decide to use a builder try to find one that has been recommended by a friend or relative who has experience of their work or use The Federation of Master Builders web site by clicking the image below.
Always agree the price at the start and exactly what the price includes. You should ask the builder to assist you with the initial survey as often, any issues that may arise will be discussed at this stage, rather than during construction. Cost guide for a 3m x 3m base will be in the region of £1,600 - £2,000.
If you are having difficulty finding a professional to construct a traditional concrete base for you please contact us as we do have contacts with base builders in certain areas that may be of help to you.
Instabuild steel conservatory base option
As an alternative to traditional base construction you may want to consider a pre-fabricated steel base. These have the tremendous advantage of avoiding the disruption and labour involved in building a traditional base, and even allow you to take the conservatory with you when you move!
You can watch a video of a typical Instabuild base installation on our alternative base page.
Whichever route you decide to go, it is essential that your conservatory base is constructed accurately to the dimensions on the base plans we will send you which will be based on the internal edge of the external brickwork.
